Frank F. Kraft is a professor of mechanical engineering at Ohio University (OU) and is the director of the college’s Center for Advanced Materials Processing. He has held engineering positions in government (U.S. Department of the Army) and in industry. Prior to joining OU, he was the R&D manager for the extruded products division of Brazeway, Inc., a worldwide leader of extrusion products and refrigeration components. He performs research in metal forming, mechanical and physical metallurgy, process simulation and development, mechanical testing, and mechanical behavior of materials. He has published journal and conference papers, handbook chapters, and patents in these fields of study, and he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses related to these topics. He has Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), and a BSME from Union College, Schenectady, New York, USA.
